Black Friday 2020
Until recent years, the word “Black Friday” was not extensively used. During Black Friday, a lot of stores open for business as early as midnight and offer huge discounts. Other shops even launch their sales before Thanksgiving.
Though not an official holiday, certain other states observe “The Day After Thanksgiving” as a holiday for state government employees. Both Thanksgiving, as well as the following Friday, are holidays for several non-retail personnel and schools. Black Friday weekend becomes a four-day weekend when added with the regular weekend.
With these added days off, the number of possible shoppers amplifies.
