There are many shops that launch their sales a day before the actual Black Friday sale. Black Thursday is not an official holiday but is a growing trend for many retailers who want to manage the influx of customers during Black Friday. In the past, Black Thursday has constantly been a growing shopping day of the year in the US.
Instead of focusing the sales promotions on a single shopping day on the 4th Friday of November, several shops have opened their promotions a day earlier. Retailers usually open for business at 6:00 a.m. for several years during Black Friday. But almost a decade ago, some retailers opened their store for the big sale event as early as 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day which is Thursday.
